LAKELAND — Even as Karen Olivo prepares for her first Broadway role in a decade, she is thinking about Lakeland.
Olivo said she has forged a recent alliance with the director of a local performing arts company, With Love Productions, and anticipates working with its members.
“I’ve finally found a company I’m really excited about in Lakeland,” Olivo said. “I’m starting to work with them, and ‘Moulin Rouge’ basically becomes a conduit in which I can give back to Lakeland.”
Alessandra Stillinger founded With Love Productions in 2010 and has kept it intact since then despite limited financial support and the lack of a home venue. She said she is still ecstatic after first talking to Olivo by phone about a month ago.
